Am I ready to invest the time to socialize a dog and teach it good manners?
Am I ready to make this animal a part of my life for the next decade and more?
Am I ready to commit the time needed to give this dog (walking, vet visits, groomer)?
Am I ready for the stages of a dog's life? Puppy, active adult, sedate senior?
What are my future plans and how will a dog fit into those plans?
Do I plan to move to a larger or smaller place and how will a dog fit into that situation?
Do I plan to have a family? and how will a dog fit into my family dynamics?
Am I ready for the financial responsibility?
Can I afford a good, quality food?
Can I afford the vet bills (which there will always be vet bills--even for routine care)
Can I afford the grooming which will be needed for some breeds?
