Yorkiepoo-Breed Information

The Yorkiepoo is a cross of a Yorkshire Terrier and a Poodle.  You can get the characteristic of either or both
breeds.  But generally, a Yorkiepoo will look like something in between the two--a denser coat than a Yorkie
but not as curly as a Poodle.
They tend to be big dogs in small packages and not realize just how small they are.  They can get along well
with children, especially if continually exposed to them.  They can be yappers.  They make good watchdogs and
may not be immediately friendly with strangers.  Good socialization is important.  Big backyards are not
important for these dogs and they generally make good apartment dwellers.  A larger cross would enjoy a walk,
the smaller ones may be content to stay inside.
Grooming is required as the hair continues to grow.  Regular brushing and visits to the groomer must be
considered for this cross.
As with all dogs, obedience is important and they usually respond very well to training.
Because this is a small breed, it is very important that they not be overfed.
